The Thanksgiving Spirit

I caught the holiday decor bug early this year. The first of November, I really wanted to put up the Christmas tree, though I knew it was far too soon. As a compromise, I made it a "Thanksgiving Tree," which satisfied my longing for greenery and twinkly lights, but was more seasonally appropriate.

Laden with pumpkins, pinecones, and pheasant feathers, I think it makes a lovely and unique transition towards a Christmas tree. I also jotted down some of the things I'm thankful for and tucked these among the branches.

Before I sign off, I'd like to share some music with you. Music is always at the top of my grateful list! Over the past year, I've really been working on my guitar skills, so this is a little sample of my progress. The nice thing about guitar is that it's so portable. Much easier to lift than a 500-pound baby grand. ;) Anyhow, please enjoy "Thanksgiving Prayer" by Johnny Cash. Fun fact- he performed this song on Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman (one of my favorite shows ever!) where he guest-starred along with his wife, June Carter Cash.

Wishing you a terrific Thanksgiving filled with plenty of good food!

Thank you for stopping by,

Eva
