On to another month already! One of my favorite things in late spring/early summer is when the lilac bushes bloom. They are fairly short-lived flowers, but have such an overwhelming, heavenly scent while they do last. We always cut several big bouquets to bring in the house - one for the kitchen, one for the living room, bedrooms, etc. And lilac stems are so easy to arrange too; they practically sort themselves into an elegantly carefree arrangement, such as you might see in Victoria Magazine. :) This season, I'm hoping to make some lilac water or lilac oil, in attempt to capture that beautiful smell for the rest of the year.
