Hope you enjoy this special music presentation for Good Friday. I've selected Chopin's posthumous Nocturne in C# minor, a favorite piece that I learned in college. Its plaintive melody really sets the tone for a somber occasion like this. Towards the middle of the song, there is a contrasting, almost jovial passage, which reminds me of when Jesus is mocked before the crucifixion. The minor theme resumes as the skies continue to darken, and Jesus surrenders His spirit. The song ends quite unexpectedly on a major arpeggiated chord, offering a glimmer of hope for what is to come.
Sending you all the warmest wishes for this Easter holiday.
Thank you for stopping by,
Eva
