Favorite Books of All Time

Last week on Instagram, a friend asked me to participate in the 7-Day Book Challenge, in which I would share the covers of my favorite novels. After completing this little challenge, I had some serious inspiration to write a book blog post... so here it is! My top 7 favorite books of all time!

Anne of Green Gables

Now this is one my very favorite book ever. There's just so much to love about this story. The gorgeous descriptions of Prince Edward Island through the seasons, the hilarious situations Anne gets herself into. If you care to follow Anne through her literary lifetime, the rest of the series is quite marvelous too. I believe it's eight books in all, with the final being about Anne's youngest daughter, Rilla.

Isn't it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet? ~Anne Shirley

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

A new favorite that I read just this summer. An absolutely-cannot-put-down book that had me up until 1 a.m. to finish reading it. :) See my review here!

Men are more interesting in books than they are in real life. ~Isola Pribby

Pride and Prejudice

Full of comedic moments and misunderstandings, this novel describes love and the great divide of social class. Since 1813 when it was published, Pride and Prejudice has been the perfect fairytale for hopeless romantic girls like myself, and so we spend our lives (im)patiently waiting for Mr. Darcy. ;)

I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! ~ Caroline Bingley

The Help

What I would call a modern classic, The Help offers a witty but serious behind-the-scenes look at life in early '60s Mississippi.

You is kind. You is smart. You is important. ~ Aibileen Clark

Me Before You

Louisa Clark has had trouble holding down a job, but her family needs her help to make ends meet. She is offered a position as a caregiver for Will Traynor, a wealthy young man who was recently paralyzed in an accident. Louisa's quirky cheerfulness rubs off on Will, and his bitter outlook on life begins to change. A wonderful read that is both funny and moving.

Push yourself. Don't Settle. Just live well. ~ Will Traynor

Atonement

I read this novel a couple weeks back (Clearly still on my WWII-era historical fiction kick.) Briony Tallis, a young girl with a dangerously wild imagination, fabricates a jealous lie which separates her sister Cecilia and Cecilia's boyfriend, Robbie. The war pulls them further apart, and we are left wondering, do they ever find each other again? It ends rather unexpectedly, so this one will keep you on your toes!

The cost of oblivious daydreaming was always this moment of return, the realignment with what had been before and now seemed a little worse. ~ Briony Tallis

A Walk to Remember

An inspirational story about young and everlasting love. This was a favorite back in high school, and as I skim the pages today, it's still a lovely read.

First you will smile, and then you will cry -- don't say you haven't been warned. ~ Landon Carter

What are your favorite books of all time? I'd love to hear in the comments!

'Til next time,

Eva
